Chaplain (LTC) Alton Raymond Kieschnick was a distinguished member of the 13th COSCOM and was killed in a military plan crash in Fort Stockton, TX on April 26, 1975 while providing combat service support to members of the 13th COSCOM and III Corps.
A Ft. Hood based U-21A aircraft crashed shortly after takeoff at 1800 hours on April 26, 1975 1/2 mile E of the Ft. Stockton airport after losing power in the left engine, rolled inverted, crashed into a parked Army tractor-trailer truck and exploded, while enroute to Ft. Hood from Ft. Stockton. Personnel conducted religious services for personnel in a road convoy returning from Operation Gallant Shield exercises.
